DAF12CS Oxford Diecast DAF 105 XXL Curtainside Moreton C Cullimore

DAF12CS – Oxford Diecast DAF 105 Moreton C Cullimore

Not shortly after the release of another tremendous 1:76 (OO Gauge) Oxford Diecast lorry (Eddie Stobart Oxford Diecast) comes this fine specimen, a DAF 105 XXL Curtainside (DAF12CS) in a Moreton C Cullimore livery.

Again this model would look great on a railway layout, owing to the fact that its so well detailed for the price and true to scale. Presented in its own plastic case that could even be displayed on a mantle-piece or table for public viewing and showing off.

The model is selling for a reasonable £17.99 available from Cheltenham Model Centre with £2 postage for 1 die-cast item.

Corgi DG125008 John Richards

John Richards Showmans Engine (Corgi DG125008)

A rare model that has fallen into our laps is the John Richards Showmans engine from Corgi in their Days Gone range. Here we review the model and highlight some possible uses for it and the availability.

Corgi DG125008 John Richards

Corgi John Richards Showmans Review

Most people with a passion for steam engines usually have that spoil over into other steam transport niches. For those of you who are “steam-a-holics” a fantastic release from Corgi in the way of a showmans engine in the Days Gone range should really rock your world.

The model comes in the ever popular 1:76 scale as does all the rest of the Corgi Days Gone range. Put this with other OO Gauge vehicles in a diorama or model railway layout and you will really add to the scene.

The model is presented in a decent looking front windowed box that means that it could be a contender for a Birthday/Christmas present for maybe an older collector of die-cast and/or a model railway enthusiast.

Price

The Corgi John Richards Showman Engine weighs in selling at £10. This price can be found at Cheltenham Model Centre.

Corgi Carter Paterson Scammell

Corgi Scammell 6 Wheel Box Van – Carter Paterson – DG044036

Corgi Carter Paterson ScammellAmong the brilliant range of 1:76 diecast models offered by Corgi in their Trackside range is the Scammell 6 Wheel Box in the Carter Paterson livery. A large box van that was regularly seen on the roads during the 1930′s/40′s would look fantastic sitting on a OO Gauge model railway layout based during and just after the Second World War.

This is not a new model but rather a look back at a classic that is getting rarer all the time. The history of the Carter Paterson brewery is very interesting and worth looking up for any beer historian or general historian as it goes.

Buying The Carter Paterson Scammell

Purchasing this model will set you back only a few quid. A quick look around on Google will show that a few stockists still have it but it is quickly becoming extinct. Looking on eBay you can see that they are still available but for a higher than RRP price, for the cheapest price see Cheltenham Model Centre : Corgi Carter Paterson Scammell 6 Wheel Box Van which is currently £3.20.

Eddie Stobart Cancer Research VOL02FR

Eddie Stobart Oxford Diecast Cancer Research Volvo FH Fridge

Eddie Stobart Cancer Research VOL02FREvery once in a while their comes along an Eddie Stobart diecast lorry, traction engine or any other vehicle that can be sold. These models are usually to a high standard at the commands of the Eddie Stobart brand to protect the company. The latest Eddie Stobart model release is produced by Oxford Diecast who have re-created a special livery in aid of Cancer Research and the Marie Keating Foundation.

On the back of the box it explains that:

Last year Eddie Stobart Ltd celebrated 40 years of trucking and passed the magic milestone by helping to raise over £73,000 for Cancer Research UK. Stobart Group stars from the Channel 5 hit – Eddie Stobart: Trucks & Trailers – came together in London on Saturday 13th December to support Ronan Keating’s annual Emeralds  & Ivy Ball and help raise almost three quarters of a million pound in aid of Cancer Research UK and the Marie Keating Foundation. Stobart Group sponsored the event, held at the iconic Battersea Power Station, as part of its 40th Anniversary celebrations. The massively successful evening helped raise vital funds towards Cancer Research UK’s and The Marie Keating Foundation’s cancer awareness units, which tour the UK and Ireland bringing cancer information and trained nurses into communities. Stobart’s new Cancer Research UK Volvo truck took centre stage and to start the fund raising, several truck related items were auctioned – one to name the vehicle – in the Eddie Stobart tradition, other bid to put their names on the side of a trailer, and the tailgate was also auctioned to the highest bidder for use as advertising space for the coming year. Combined with the previous truck’s revenue for the year and a selection of other fantastic auction items, the auction contributed towards a total of of over £730,000 raised on the night.

All proceeds from the sale of this model will be donated to the charities.

Oxford Diecast Ltd would like to thank Stobart Group, W H Malcolm and Volvo UK for allowing this model to be made and MPiD Design for donating their services.

So not only are you buying a limited edition Eddie Stobart lorry from the fantastic Oxford Diecast, you are also helping raise money for cancer awereness.

This fantastic model would look great in the presentation box it comes in or would look even better mixed in with other goods vehicles on a OO Gauge railway layout as its a 1:76 Scale.

From a price point of view, the model is a little more expensive than the usual Oxford Diecast 1:76 Scale Lorries but this is a special model and as always the Eddie Stobart models always run out quickly!

Oxford Diecast Channel Crossing

Top Gear – Oxford Diecast Channel Crossing Damper Van (TG01)

Oxford Diecast Channel CrossingThe first Top gear Oxford Diecast (TG01) is the Damper Van created in the BBC show by Richard Hammond. Corgi ST97601 Flying Scotsman

Corgi Flying Scotsman (ST97601)

For most this seems like an odd direction for Corgi to take. A die-cast train. Fact is they have 3 locomotives planned for this year and this it he first to hit the shops.

Truth is it isn’t that bad. If you are a fan of the locomotive scene and you would like a model to show off on your side table etc then you could easily fit this 1:120 Corgi scale Flying Scotsman. Only 18cm in length it is sure to fit in a lot of presentation boxes or displays but you wont find very much else to go with it in that scale.

Stats For The Corgi Flying Scotsman

  • Full Model Name: NRM LNER 4-6-2 (Flying Scotsman) A3 Class (As Preserved) 2011
  • Corgi Code: ST97601
  • Length: 180mm

The latest Gloster Gladiator from Corgi (Gloster Gladiator Mk1, L8011, YK-0, RAF 80Sqn, Pat Pattle, Eypt, Spring 1940 for the full description) looks incredible. Its fantastic paint finish looks truly authentic and is a real piece of aviation history. The 1:72 Scale that it has been producing allows you to have a great quality model which you could keep on a mantle etc. The run of 1200 keeps this Gloster Gladiator fairly exclusive and im sure that its value can only go up with time.
